Privacy policy

This policy explains what information RankedTours ("we", "us") collects when you use rankedtours.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We do not offer accounts and we never take payments, so we collect very little.
1. Information we collect
When you browse
Like most websites, our server receives technical information with every request: your IP address, browser and device type (user agent), the page you came from (referrer), and the time. We use it to run and secure the site.
When you click through to Trip.com
When you follow one of our links to Trip.com we record: the hotel, the dates you selected (if any), the site language, whether you arrived from one of our ads, your IP address, user agent and referrer, and the time. If you arrived from a Google ad, we pass Google's click identifier (gclid) to Trip.com as a tracking parameter so that a resulting booking can be attributed to that ad.
Stored in your browser
We store two small items in your browser's local storage: the dates you picked (so you don't have to choose them again on the next page) and the ad click identifier described above. They never leave your device except as part of the link to Trip.com. You can remove them at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed and how many people click through to Trip.com. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser. See our cookie policy.
When you contact us
If you use our contact form we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to answer you.
2. Why we use it
- To show you hotels and send you to Trip.com with your chosen dates.
- To measure which pages and ads work, and to receive commission for bookings we referred (our legitimate interest in running the site).
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse, including filtering automated traffic.
- To reply to your messages.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles of you.
3. Who we share it with
- Trip.com — when you click through, Trip.com receives the hotel, your dates and our affiliate and tracking parameters. What happens on Trip.com is governed by Trip.com's privacy policy.
- Google — Google Analytics and Google Ads process usage and ad-click data on our behalf. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Hosting provider — our server is hosted by a cloud provider that stores data on our behalf.
- Authorities — if we are required to by law.
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union.
4. How long we keep it
Click-through records and server logs are kept for up to 14 months so we can reconcile bookings with Trip.com, then deleted. Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and control ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, Thailand's PDPA or Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use. Send a request through our contact page and we will respond within 30 days.
6. Children
RankedTours is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
